The company was initiated in the name of M/S Mohan Agro Centre in 1982 as a retail fertilizer shop at Papanasam in Thanjavur Dt. Subsequently the activities of the company was shifted to Kumbakonam in 1985 and entered into the whole sale fertilizer trading. With a view to provide the major nutrients and the micro-nutrients in the form of handmade mixtures, the company started its manufacturing units at Kumbakonam in the year 2002 . The mixture fertilizers are manufactured in the name of M/S Macsun Fertilizers and the Micro-nutrient mixtures are manufactured and marketed under the brand name of M/S Sunmac Agro Chemicals. In addition to the above, manufacturing of insecticides and fungicides was started in the year 2006-2007 in the name of M/S Skywin Agro Tech. All programmes are moving very positively.
The volume of business is about 100 crores. The present trend of farming is moving towards environmentally safe Agriculture i.e Keeping the soil in organically health condition, rising the crop with bio- organic manures and pesticides and producing nontoxic food products. Therefore everyone is interested either in complete organic farming or organic farming with minimum usage of inorganic inputs. To satisfy the need of organic input, this company started the production and distribution of bio-derived (Organic) nutrients both in the form of granular and liquid formulation in the year 2007-2008, under the name of M/S Skywin Bio-Tech.
The latest technology, the Drip fertigation is helping the farmers in not only increasing the water use efficiency but also in the substantial enhancement of crop productivity. Though fertigation technique is very effective in all crops, the impact was conspicuous in Sugarcane. Normally in fertigation the major nutrients Nitrogen and Potassium are being supplied. Phosphorous is applied as Basal application. Therefore here is a need to provide all the needed nutrients inclusive of micro-nutrients and other growth promoters through fertigation to increase the yield in Sugarcane. Considering these points in view this firm has started manufacturing the liquid formulation in the name of Sunwin Drip Special in the year 2008-2009.
The founder and present Chairman of this company Mr. M.Mohan, is from an agricultural family. With minimum educational qualification, he met innumerous agony in his early life. He stride very hard to come up .He started his career as an errand boy in the fertilizer shop of his uncle. At later date he became his friend philosopher and guide. Through relentless hard work he became the owner of a retail fertilizer shop, wholesaler, distributor and now a manufacturer and distributor of organic, inorganic fertilizers, pesticides and bio-products. His only ambition is increasing the production and productivity of the nation by making the farmers to use bio-organic products increase the yield and profit of the individual farmers.
